This problem occurs if no drive letters are available to assign to the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. My only other option, if not, is to take the drive out and use a Mac format utility to erase and format the drive as a PC DOS volume. Even generating or making partitions is done differently. I have tried going into safe mode and fixing the issue, but safe mode crashes too... However i do use my laptop a lot for netflix, so i decided to setup xp in virtual box since netflix doesn't work in Ubuntu.
