Move the print head back to the right, closed lid and turned it on. Is this a foriegn object or is it a useful one? The "sponges" are located on the right under where the ink cartridge carrier "rests". a small piece of metal on the right side nr the printhead. his comment is here
I think the rectangular one had so much ink on it it popped itself out of place.My error is gone and I can print again! With the end of a ballpoint pen, I pulled the right tray toward the front of the printer and the whole assembly snapped into place. Add it up! - unknown worked!!!THANK YOU VERY MUCH - Anonymous Yeah! It appears that the purge unit moves forward about 1/4 in.then stops and returns, but there's no sign of anything stopping it.

The spring finally popped off the purge unit and I'm calling it quits. My problem was in the 90\% and as soon as I removed the ink soaked paper and restarted my printer it worked fine. Any help is greatly appreciated. You were exactly right, that little sponge had popped up. Pull out power cord3. If the BCI-3eBK is allowed to run empty, it will fry the print head and the print head will probably need replacement.
