The answer was "Error 5100" with the same message "Turn off then on and see if it works."What I did was "Printer" --> "Properties" --> Maintenance --> Custom settings: I checked i have the same problem with my i550it wont work it just blinks green once and then orange a couple of times.i cant find anything blocking whatever. Anybody know the reset procedure for iP4500? It's a new machine out ofthe box.
I then moved the cartridge back and forth a few times, closed everthing up and the printer works fine again. I've tried everything, cleaning the waste ink tank and the reset code but nothing happened. damn piece of plastic strip was stuck under where the printer cartridges runs along/across. I cant seem to get it latched correctly on the right side...
can get smudges on the strip, apparently. As others had pointed out before, it can have alot to do with some obstruction in the print path, the gears, or ink on the clear plastic encoder strip. I've checked for obstructions and I don’t see anything obvious but can't get INTO the thing either... Tried everything and the solution was push inktcatridge to left and right. With a flashlight or other bright light, please check the paper feed areas of the printer and verify that there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer that may check over here That just might solve your problem.
