Can you cover any or all of the micro switches that maybe on the cover and the lid. You will break something if is is jammed and you need a much closer inspection to try and remove the jam. navigate here
You need to move it a couple of time back and forth. Well John, you need to read some of these posts much closer. Canon A6000 My suggestion is to wet a paper towel with windex and wipe as much of the ink off as you can. I believe this switch might be depressed when the top cover is on and closed. I printed another photo and noticed that simultaneous with the odd noise, I could see the photo change path, sliding to the right, as it was passing forward through the rollers. Next was to try and move the print head yourself by hand to the left side of your printer. Whereas it originally moved forward and back at the end of startup, changed positions randomly throughout my attempts to replicate Hat's instructions. Clean the pads, the while nylon arm, and the soft wiper as good as you can. Oh, well, back to HP.
