If this is indeed what you did, this would correct the card error problems, but unfortunately would make any photos unrecoverable, even with software. amazing! Hi! Laugh out loud.

A card can also corrupt if camera power is interrupted during the write process (such as changing batteries or batteries dying while the card is still writing the last picture taken). OMG!
